Hello.
My name is Neil J. Savage and I live in Boston, Massachusetts.
I am a writer and have had published several books, mostly histories of local institutions such as of the Boston Water and Sewer system which was created by the destruction of five towns in western Massachusetts and the subsequent flooding of the land to form a huge reservoir.
The history of the Rural Cemetery in the City of Roxbury (now part of Boston) where are interred the remains of such as Eugene O'Neill and e.e.cummings.
My latest non-fiction book recounts the contributions of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to the political history of the United States from the Vice Presidency of John Adams to the Speakership of the U.S. House of Representatives of Thomas P. (Tip) O'Neill.
I have now written two works of fiction, the first of which, Jonathan Baker's House on Lime Street I plan to publish by what is fast becoming the major method of publishing in this country - on the net.
Before offering the book for sale, I have created this web site and posted a number of short writings on it so that potential buyers of my book might make a judgment as to the quality and interest of my writing.
I have invented two characters. The first Aidan Leahy, a former newspaper reporter who writes such things as poems, sayings, and his idea of what the future might hold for us.
And Helmut the Hermit, who decides that since he can do anything he needs to do - order in his groceries and send out his laundry, whatever, without ever leaving his house, doesn't; but spends his time giving inane advice to whomever is foolish enough to ask for it
Which, come to think of it, has the advantage of lacking the cant of those advisers who really know of what they are talking about.
Enjoy!
Thank you,
Neil Savage
